Dirty mechanics

2 to 6 players.

Dirty Laundry is an amazing two to six player game. A two player game works just as well as a six player game! If you're like us and have been looking for a clever, manipulative, mind-bending game that works the same with any number of players, then this is the perfect game for you! We've never played a more entertaining two player card game where the dynamics are equally as fun with less players!

Dynamics are impeccable. No two games are the same.

Once we played a game with 5 people that lasted almost 2 hours. It went on for a fairly long time because when 1 player was winning, everyone teamed up and turned on him. Everyone was on their toes blocking and ruining his chances for victory, while helping each other wash their own laundry. In the end, he won because he managed to draw a hand wash to secure his win.

Another time, we played a game between 2 people and it lasted 10 minutes. Both players were very friendly and kept loading up the washing machine with the right cleaning items. No one ended up sabotaging the really big load, it ended up cleaning about 10 garments out of the 12 garments between both players.

It’s quite intuitive and very easy to understand.

It doesn’t take long for someone new to pick it up. As long as you know how to wash your own clothes or have some common sense 😏. Usually after everyone has 1 turn or when someone manages to wash a load of laundry everyone immediately becomes an expert in Dirty Laundry. The only major confusion we found was how the hand wash is played, it requires 2 moves to load a garment not 1. That’s why we made sure to include that in the instruction in its own little category.

Actions are written on the cards.

We have designed this game so that you can play this game without really reading the instructions. There’s a reference page behind the clothesline for convenience. There are really only 3 steps that you need to remember. Draw 2 cards, make 2 moves and discard any extra cards (hand limit of 5 cards). The rest is pretty straight forward, with most of the necessary rules written on the cards themselves. Action cards have white borders and are played immediately while Item cards are played face-down. All garments are face-up on the table.

find this reference page on the back of the clothesline board

You can always make up your own house rules.

  • Remove all hand wash cards, for a very very dirty and long game.

  • Play with Colours and White garments in separate loads only.

  • Ruined and Dirty garments can go into the same load.

Let us know of any more variations.

Thanks for reading this blog, we hope you enjoy this game as much as we do.
